for i in $(find . -type ...) HAS to stop once and for all. The primary reason is that beginners have huge problems with the < <(...) "postfix" syntax. I can even understand. -Andy |

That last example had several mistakes. Most notably, %%[0-9]* does not remove "all trailing digits". It removes everything from the first digit to end of string. |
